SHORT STACK: Tegan & Sara // Awesome New Republic // Washed Out

Last time I did "Short Stack" post was back in July and for good reason - it's super time consuming and tedious. But today I've got a good collection, so why not share my gold?

Up first is a new tune from Tegan & Sara's upcoming LP Sainthood [Oct 27th via Sire]. The Ocean is classic T & S with layered vocals, soft but lifting guitar, and emotional lyrics of yearning.

Awesome New Republic's Alleycat starts out as an electropop tune which soon becomes consumed by upbeat indiepop. This Miami trio is one to watch as they release their sophomore LP Hearts next week, Oct 27th via Honor Roll Records.

Washed Out [Ernest Greene] from Georgia has been riding the high waves of blog buzz for the past couple of months and deserves most of it. His summery, lazy lo-fi dance vibe jam are actually good for any season. High Times is a sold out tour only cassette tape. Check out the third track from it called Phone Call.

  1. I actually really dig the new Tegan & Sara. I couldn't get into them in HS, but this new album is cool. "Someday" sounds like Atom & His Package meets Mates of State. I dig it.
