MP3: Kurt Vile - Hunchback

Hope everyone had a killer Labor Day weekend. I know I did [hence, the lack of posts].

This morning, Matador Records posted a new Kurt Vile mp3 from his upcoming album Childish Prodigy [Oct 6th]. "Hunchback" opens the new album with a darkness that we didn't see a few months ago with "Overnight Religion" - a lighter/airy-er jam. Both are shrouded in mystery and lots of reverb.

[MP3] Times New Viking - No Time No Hope

I haven't really heard much of Ohio's Times New Viking besides one song a ways back. To be honest with you, I wasn't too impressed. I decided to give them another shot when I read that they'd be releasing a new album in September on Matador Records. The first track from Born Again Revisited starts off with garage grunge guitar and major feedback but if you listen close enough, their is a melody. Overall, it's a pretty solid 60's induced garage anthem. Set your radar to follow this trio if you haven't already. Good things to come

[MP3] Yo La Tengo - Periodically Double Or Triple

Yo La Tango have been around for quite some time. 15 years. wow. What can I say about them that hasn't already been said. Their newest album entitled Popular Songs will be released September 8th via Matador Records. The single sounds pretty jammified - I love making up words. Get into it:
